Caribbean Islands

The French Carribean is composed of Guadeloupe and Martinique. Over 6 000 km away from Paris, these volcanic islands benefit from a tropical climate. There are two distinct seasons, dry or rainy, but the temperatures do not vary much, with an annual average of 26°C. With a population of 800 000 people for both territories (almost equally parted), the French Carribean rely strongly on farming activities.

Gastro
Caribbean cuisine is a fusion of the many traditions people brought to the island. Mainly based on seafood, Carribbean recipes often imply a maceration period of meat and fish into a chilli-based seasoning. For starters, try some accras de morue, codfish fritters, served as starters with a chilli sauce. How about a ti-punch on the beach ? A glass of this rum cocktail will certainly help you relax on your holiday !
